Problematika Sertifikasi Halal pada Pelaku Usaha Ayam Potong di Kecamatan Pakisaji Jepara

Abstract


Chicken meat consumption in Indonesia continues to increase along with the times, including in Pakisaji District, Jepara. However, the implementation of halal certification in broiler chicken businesses still faces various obstacles, especially in the small and medium business sector. These obstacles include lack of information, expensive certification costs, and the assumption that certification is only needed for large-scale businesses. This study aims to determine the practice of chicken slaughtering and identify the problems faced by broiler chicken business actors related to halal certification in Pakisaji District, Jepara. This study uses a field research method with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques include interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that slaughtering practices are generally in accordance with Islamic law principles. However, all business actors do not yet have halal certificates, and the slaughterers used do not yet have official competency certificates. This is due to the lack of assistance, limited access to information, and certification costs that are considered burdensome.
