Implikasi Kafaah Terhadap Keharmonisan Rumah Tangga (Studi Kasus di Desa Bulung Kulon Kecamatan Jekulo Kabupaten Kudus)

Abstract

Kafaah is a recommendation for couples who are getting married to choose the criteria for a life partner. This can be seen from the balance and harmony in choosing a partner, both in terms of religion, morals, education, lineage (ancestry) and economics. Thus, this harmony means that the bride and groom do not feel any inequality and it is easier to create a harmonious household. However, the problem is, there are some couples who do not know this recommendation. This research aims to find out the understanding of kafaah and its application in Bulung Kulon Village and to find out the implications of kafaah in building a harmonious family. In conducting the research, the researcher used a qualitative approach, then the data sources included primary data, namely the data obtained by the researcher from 5 pairs of resource persons in Bulung Kulon Village, 1 religious figure and 1 village elder figure. Then the secondary data is in the form of several documents in the form of village archives, documentation and data relevant to the research. The researcher's analysis technique uses data reduction techniques, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of this research show that (1) The understanding of kafaah is already known to the public, but in terms of seed quality, bebet, weight in choosing a partner. Society defines kafaah in marriage as the similarity of background between the two candidates with the same priority in terms of religion so that the goal of household harmony is achieved. (2) The application of kafaah in the Bulung Kulon community is realized in some communities. Others know about it but do not pay attention to it because they have certain reasons and principles. (3) Kafaah in building a harmonious family has implications for 3 things. These include: a. Family management: good family management aims to facilitate the role of parents in building a harmonious household and educating children's character well. b. Parenting patterns: children who are raised in a harmonious household are more likely to become better individuals and kafaah is a path that the prospective bride and groom can take to make it easier to achieve harmony. c. Religious practice: kafaah couples in terms of religion will have a greater impact on strengthening their faith, where they will support each other and carry out religious demands more enthusiastically.
